OPEN STUDIO: sofa-verse gives visitors a rare look inside a working artist studio at Gasworks Arts Park, part of the precinct's program supporting resident and visiting artists. Rather than a finished exhibition, an open studio event shows work in progress, offering a more informal way to engage with an artist's process and current thinking than a standard gallery show. It's a short, one-off session, better suited to visitors curious about how creative work actually gets made than those after a polished showcase. Gasworks runs a number of these open studio sessions through the year as part of its broader commitment to supporting artists at different career stages, from emerging practitioners to more established names. The event takes place in the studio spaces within Gasworks' heritage buildings in Albert Park, alongside the precinct's galleries, theatres and parkland. It runs from 6pm to 7pm on Monday 31 August.
