TheSuperCool

A family-run South Melbourne Market stall stocking conscious kids' clothing, toys, homewares and gifts chosen for style, not mass appeal.

Tucked inside South Melbourne Market's SO:ME Space, TheSuperCool has been a fixture since 2013, filling its stall with playful homewares, candles, books and a genuinely thoughtful range of children's clothing, toys and gifts. Now run by Jaryd and Bianca, the shop leans hard into ethical and sustainable brands, so browsing here feels less like shopping and more like discovering things you'll actually want to keep.

TheSuperCool has been part of South Melbourne Market since 2013, and it still has the feel of a shop built by people who genuinely love the products they sell. What started as a travel-inspired idea by founders Kate and Noonie grew into one of the market's most colourful stalls, and in 2023 Jaryd and Bianca took over, steering it further towards ethical and sustainable retail. Inside you'll find an eclectic mix of homewares, candles, design books, wellness goods and gifts for adults, alongside a dedicated kids' section with clothing, shoes, toys, books and room decor for babies through to older children. Nearly every brand on the shelves has been picked for a reason, whether that's Australian-made credentials, fair trade production, handmade quality or biodegradable packaging, so it's an easy place to find a gift that feels considered rather than generic. The stall's colourful, playful visual merchandising has made it a familiar sight for regular market-goers and has seen it featured on television home renovation shows over the years. Staff offer free gift wrapping, which makes it a handy stop if you're after a last-minute present while you're doing your market shopping. As part of the SO:ME Space precinct, TheSuperCool sits among other independent traders, so it's easy to combine a visit here with a wider look around the market's produce, food and specialty stalls. It's open on the market's usual trading days, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with slightly extended hours on Fridays.
