SWOP South Melbourne opened in March 2026 inside a corner warehouse on Clarke Street that previously housed an axe-throwing venue and a CrossFit gym. At 500 square metres, it is the resale brand's fourth store nationally and its second in Melbourne, following an original Collingwood shop that founder Brigid Gordon opened after outgrowing earlier premises. The business operates as a circular fashion marketplace: customers bring in clean, wearable designer, vintage and contemporary pieces and choose between 30 percent cash or 50 percent store credit, while shoppers browse the resulting stock of pre-loved clothing, accessories and homewares in person or through the brand's online shop. Design studio Studio Gardner, led by William McRoberts and Joseph Gardner, fitted out the space with floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed brick and custom joinery, aiming for what Gordon has described as a Parisian or New York gallery feel. Furniture came from local makers including Weston Fab and Cessa Furniture, alongside curated pieces from Oigall Projects, Galerie Terminus, Brud Studio and Cranbrook Workshop, including a rare 1970s inflatable sofa. The store trades seven days a week and takes drop-off bookings through the SWOP app for anyone wanting to sell into the collection.
