Roxy's is a warehouse conversion down a laneway off Alfred Place in South Melbourne, previously a mechanics workshop and now one of the more distinctive function spaces in the area. The bones of the building are still on show, concrete floors, white brick walls and a large roller door entrance, while a fully stocked bar, semi-permanent lounge area and moveable gallery walls let the room be reset for different kinds of events. Standing capacity runs to around 120 guests, which makes it suited to weddings, corporate functions, birthdays, engagement parties, hens nights and baby or bridal showers rather than large-scale galas. Roxy's also runs its own calendar of ticketed nights in the same space, including drag bingo, live music, comedy and creative workshops like paint and sip or floral styling sessions, so it doubles as a venue you can visit for an event rather than only hiring outright. Catering is flexible: you can bring your own, use Roxy's catering partner, or arrange your own external caterers, which gives a bit more room to control the budget than a venue with a fixed in-house kitchen. Styling is done in collaboration with a local florist, and the whole space is designed to shift from a daytime workshop feel to late-night party energy.
