Radiant Sol Yoga

A loft-style yoga studio above Argyle Place off Thistlethwaite Street, running more than 30 classes a week from Slow Flow to Power Flow.

Radiant Sol Yoga occupies a light-filled loft space above Argyle Place, a quiet laneway off Thistlethwaite Street in South Melbourne, and has been part of the local yoga scene for more than a decade. The studio runs over 30 classes a week, with a mix of styles including its signature Slow Flow, meditative Yin, gentle Mellow and warmer Vinyasa and Power Flow sessions. Mats, blocks, bolsters and straps are all supplied, and the space doubles as a calm reset from the surrounding streets.

Radiant Sol Yoga runs a loft studio reached via a cobblestone laneway, Argyle Place, off Thistlethwaite Street in South Melbourne. Owner Danielle has been part of the Port Melbourne and South Melbourne yoga community for more than twelve years, and the South Melbourne space has an elevated, skylit feel that's noticeably different from a typical gym studio. The weekly timetable covers more than 30 classes across several styles. Slow Flow is the studio's signature class and a hearty, unhurried practice suited to most levels, Yin holds floor-based poses for several minutes at a time for a deeply stretching, meditative session, Mellow blends the two into something gentle and accessible, and Vinyasa Flow and Power Flow step up the pace and the room temperature for a warmer, more energetic practice. A twice-monthly Yoga Essentials Masterclass is aimed squarely at people new to yoga or returning after time away. The studio supplies mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps, so there's no need to bring your own gear, and lockers are available for bags and phones, since the space is kept as a phone-free zone during class. Bookings run through the Momence app, and the studio itself only opens around fifteen minutes before each class starts. Parking on Thistlethwaite Street can be tight on weekdays, though nearby streets including City Road and Montague Street offer free options, and the 109 and 96 tram lines both stop within a short walk.
