Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic

Purpose-built vet clinic and hospital on Bay Street that's been caring for Port Melbourne's cats, dogs and small pets since 1997.

Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic and Hospital has been on Bay Street, just two streets back from the beach, since 1997. It's a purpose-built practice with four full-time and two part-time vets plus a team of nurses, set up to handle everything from routine check-ups to more involved surgery. The clinic treats dogs, cats, birds and other small pets, and keeps its doors open six days a week for the local Port Melbourne community.

Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic and Hospital has been treating the neighbourhood's pets since 1997 from its purpose-built premises on Bay Street, a couple of streets back from the beach. The practice is fully equipped for surgery and diagnostics, with in-house pathology for fast results and close relationships with Melbourne's specialist referral centres for anything beyond general practice. The team includes four full-time vets, two part-time vets and eight veterinary nurses and animal attendants, covering everything from vaccinations, health checks and dental work through to desexing, microchipping and more complex procedures. The clinic also offers a pet export service through an AQIS-accredited veterinarian for owners planning to travel overseas with an animal, and stocks a range of pet food, prescription diets and pet care accessories. Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic treats dogs, cats, birds and other small pets, and will also see injured native wildlife on a compassionate basis. It's open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm and Saturday mornings until 2pm, closed Sundays and public holidays. Appointments can be booked online or by phone, and invoices are settled at the time of consultation or on discharge from hospital, with pet insurance claims able to be lodged either by the owner or by the clinic directly.
