Plume Gallery is an Albert Park art space run by artist and director Katrina McKeon, a few minutes from South Melbourne's Clarendon Street shops. The gallery represents a small group of resident artists, including McKeon herself, alongside a changing line-up of established and emerging Australian painters, and shows a mix of contemporary abstract, mixed-media and textile-influenced work next to a curated selection of Australian Aboriginal art. Visitors can browse the gallery space at street level, where solo and group shows change regularly, and speak with an art consultant about a piece for a specific room or collection. Plume also takes on private commissions and offers gift vouchers, and sells a portion of its stock through an online shop for those who can't get in to see the work in person. It suits people shopping for an original piece of art, whether a first purchase or an addition to an existing collection, as well as anyone who enjoys dropping into a working gallery to see what's currently on the walls. The gallery is open seven days, with consultants generally on hand to talk through pricing, framing and delivery.
