Intertwined Dance & Arts Therapy

Steph Cuce pairs dance training with expressive arts therapy, running classes and 1:1 sessions for kids, teens and adults who want to move, create and heal.

Founded by dance educator and registered arts psychotherapist Stephanie Cuce, Intertwined Dance & Arts Therapy combines two disciplines under one roof: dance classes spanning jazz, contemporary, salsa, heels and hip-hop, and expressive arts therapy sessions for children and teens. Group classes suit complete beginners through to seasoned dancers, while therapy sessions use movement, art and play to help kids process emotions, with options for NDIS participants, home visits and school visits.

Intertwined Dance & Arts Therapy grew out of Stephanie Cuce's decade-plus career teaching dance and working as an Expressive Arts Therapist across community health, disability and not-for-profit settings. Steph holds a Bachelor of Arts Psychotherapy and is registered with ANZACATA (the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association), and she built Intertwined as a space where dance training and therapeutic creative work sit side by side rather than in separate worlds. On the dance side, adults can drop into jazz technique, contemporary flow, salsa shines and body movement, commercial hip-hop and heels classes, taught by Steph alongside instructors Esperanza Rimando, a registered Somatics Dance movement therapist, and Laura Isabella Green, a So You Think You Can Dance Top 100 alumna. Kids and teens have their own weekly program, and couples can book private salsa and bachata lessons or wedding dance preparation. On the therapy side, Steph and her colleagues run one-on-one Expressive Arts Therapy sessions for children, using movement, art-making and play as tools for emotional expression and early intervention support. Sessions can happen in-studio, at home or at school, and the practice works with NDIS participants. Movement Therapy Workshops, run periodically through the year, extend these somatic and embodiment techniques to adults exploring mindfulness and self-awareness through their bodies. Pop-up classes and one-off workshops are announced through Intertwined's newsletter and social channels, alongside occasional performance showcases such as their contemporary work The Thread.
