Dog Sh*t is a pet products business run by Port Phillip locals Krystal and Shane, who set out to make it easier to find good quality, ethical and Australian-made products for dogs. What started as an online store has grown into a permanent stall in the East Aisle of South Melbourne Market, found at Shop 229, past the photo booth and across from The Super Cool. The stall stocks an entirely Australian-owned family of brands, including Doggistyle silicone feeding gear, Kelpy Bone seaweed chew toys, Outback Tails walking gear and bandanas, Essential Dog grooming products, Treat Treat dehydrated treats, Melbourne-made Bug & Bun dog fragrance, Stylish Hound compostable poo bags, Petz Park supplements and wipes, and Mimi & Munch probiotic treats, among others. Packaging across the range is chosen with sustainability in mind, using recycled, recyclable or reusable materials wherever possible. Dog Sh*t follows the standard South Melbourne Market trading hours, open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am, and offers free click-and-collect for online orders placed for in-store pickup. As the market doesn't permit dogs inside for health and safety reasons, four-legged customers will have to wait outside while their humans do the shopping.
