Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre opened in 1997 beside Albert Park Lake and remains Victoria's main venue for competitive swimming. Alongside its 50-metre pools, the centre runs a gym, group fitness classes and a sports medicine clinic, drawing both recreational visitors and squad swimmers.
