Golden Fleece Hotel

A Santorini-inspired pub on Montague Street, pairing Greek mezze and mains with a rooftop bar and split-level dining rooms.

Golden Fleece Hotel is a multi-level pub on Montague Street reimagined with a Santorini-inspired fit-out, serving contemporary Greek mezze and mains alongside a rooftop bar. Part of the Welcommé hospitality group, it hosts Golden Hour drink specials, Greek Nights and private functions across its dining rooms, bar and rooftop.

Golden Fleece Hotel occupies a heritage pub building on Montague Street, close to the border of South Melbourne and Southbank, reworked with a Santorini-inspired fit-out of whitewashed walls, curved stone-look booths and mosaic-tiled staircases. The venue is run by the Welcommé hospitality group and spreads across a classic pub floor, an upstairs bar with a DJ booth and pool table, and a rooftop terrace used for warmer-weather sessions. The kitchen serves contemporary Greek and Mediterranean dishes, including house-made bread and dips, dolmades, moussaka and mezze platters built for sharing, with vegan, vegetarian and meat options on the menu. A regular Golden Hour promotion runs discounted pints, house wines, spirits and jugs, and the hotel also puts on Greek Night events built around live music and dancing. Beyond day-to-day dining and drinking, the Golden Fleece takes bookings for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and other private events, with flexible spaces that can be hired individually or combined for larger groups. Its position a short walk from South Melbourne Market and the Clarendon Street shopping strip makes it a stop for both locals and visitors after a day exploring the area, whether for a long lunch, evening drinks or a full night out.
