Youth2Industry College is a registered independent senior secondary school at Level 2, 220 Albert Road, South Melbourne, opposite Albert Park Lake. It caters specifically to students aged 15 to 19, many of whom have found mainstream schooling difficult due to anxiety, mental health challenges or general disengagement, offering a smaller, more individualised alternative for completing senior secondary education. The curriculum centres on applied and vocational learning, including the VCE Vocational Major, the Victorian Pathways Certificate, Vocational Education and Training, and School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships. Industry immersion programs and an in-house Jobs Club connect students with employers and work placement opportunities, building practical experience alongside classroom study. Wellbeing is built into the school's day-to-day operation, with on-site psychologist and welfare staff, sensory-sensitive learning spaces, a mindfulness room, and a free breakfast and lunch program run in partnership with SecondBite. The school is led by Principal Tom Witenden. For a small, purpose-built school focused on getting disengaged or at-risk students back on track and into further study or employment, Youth2Industry College offers a genuinely different model from a standard secondary college. The school's location opposite Albert Park Lake also places it within an easy walk of South Melbourne's cafes, parks and public transport links, making the area itself part of the everyday student experience.
