United Energy Around the Bay 2026

Event Details

Thousands of cyclists set off from Albert Park Lake for Bicycle Network's Around the Bay, with ride options from a family-friendly 5km to a 220km epic.

United Energy Around the Bay is Bicycle Network's flagship cycling event, drawing riders of every level to Albert Park Lake for a choice of six ride distances, from a 5–17km family option through to the 220km Classic starting in Geelong. Whatever distance riders choose, the event includes road closures, on-route support, rest stops and a finishers' medal, with live entertainment and food trucks adding to the atmosphere back at the event village. The ride raises funds for a group of health charities including Beyond Blue, Cancer Council Victoria, Diabetes Victoria and the Stroke Foundation, and many riders use the day to fundraise for a cause that matters to them. Families are well catered for with a free-entry option for kids 14 and under on the shorter rides, while more experienced cyclists can take on the longer routes around Port Phillip Bay. With the event village and family ride start based at Albert Park Lake, and the route weaving along the coast through Elwood and beyond, it's one of the bigger sporting dates on the local spring calendar.
