Yamaha Music Australia

Australia's national office for Yamaha's musical instruments and audio brands operates from Market Street, coordinating dealers, music schools and product support countrywide.

Yamaha Music Australia runs its head office from a purpose-built building on Market Street, South Melbourne, which the company moved into in 2017. As well as staff offices, the building includes a home entertainment theatre room and an in-house music studio used to demonstrate pianos, keyboards and audio gear. From here the company manages its Australian dealer network, warranty and repair services, and music education programs including school grants and the Yamaha Music School.

Yamaha Music Australia Pty Ltd is the Australian distribution arm of the global Yamaha Corporation, covering musical instruments, professional and home audio, and music education. Its head office is based at Level 1, 80 Market Street in South Melbourne, a purpose-built space the company moved into in 2017 after outgrowing its previous site. The Market Street building was designed with more than a standard office in mind. Alongside staff work areas and meeting rooms, it houses a home entertainment theatre room for demonstrating audio and video products, and a dedicated music studio for showcasing pianos, keyboards, drums and other instruments. It's from here that Yamaha coordinates its network of authorised dealers around the country, along with technical support, warranty claims and service centre referrals for anyone who owns a Yamaha product. Education is also a significant part of the operation. Yamaha Music Australia runs the Yamaha Music School program, offers a Great Start Grant for schools, and supports outreach initiatives connected to music education. While the Market Street office isn't a public retail showroom, it functions as the operational base behind every Yamaha instrument and audio product sold in Australia, from keyboards and guitars through to PA systems and home theatre equipment.
