Electric Dreams Studio

A composer-led studio on Tope Street scoring film, TV and games, plus recording and mastering tracks for working musicians.

Tucked into a warehouse conversion on Tope Street, Electric Dreams Studio has operated since 2008 as a composer collective led by Cornel Wilczek. The team writes and produces original music for film, television, games and radio, drawing on an eclectic mix of vintage and modern gear. The studio also records, produces and masters tracks for independent artists, working alongside an extended network of collaborating composers based around the world.

Electric Dreams Studio is a Melbourne composer collective founded in 2008 by composer and producer Cornel Wilczek, working out of a studio space on Tope Street in South Melbourne. Rather than operating as a single-composer shop, the studio functions as a community of composers, producers, engineers and music supervisors who share resources, ideas and a genuine love of experimentation. The core of the work is original composition for screen and interactive media: scoring for film, television, games, radio and installation projects. The studio is equipped with a broad collection of instruments and outboard gear, ranging from vintage synths and organs to modern production tools, giving composers plenty of sonic options when building a score from scratch. Alongside composition work, Electric Dreams also offers recording, production and mastering services for musicians and bands, making it a working base for both screen composers and recording artists. The studio maintains an extended network of collaborating composers based around the world, who bring in outside perspectives and specialist skills when a project calls for them. For anyone after original music for a screen project, or a studio to record and master a release, Electric Dreams operates as both a creative hub and a technical facility.
