Lucia Melbourne

A Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar at the base of Eleven Eastern, pairing seasonal European plates with an extensive wine cellar.

Lucia occupies the ground floor of the Eleven Eastern building on Eastern Road, bringing Mediterranean-inspired dining to South Melbourne's office precinct. The menu draws on classic European dishes, built around seasonal produce, premium cuts and a daily seafood bar, all designed for sharing. A wine list running to roughly 400 bottles is overseen by a dedicated sommelier, and the light-filled dining room, with its maroon and moss-green tones, suits both a long lunch and a dressed-up dinner.

From the team behind Riserva, Baia Di Vino and San Lorenzo, Lucia brings a Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar to the ground floor of Eleven Eastern, a high-rise office building on Eastern Road. The space was designed by architecture practice Rothelowman with branding studio Blurr Bureau, drawing on European heritage and Renaissance-era references, and features floor-to-ceiling windows, banquette seating and marble-topped tables with brass detailing. The kitchen's approach centres on seasonal produce, premium cuts of meat and a daily seafood bar, with dishes designed to be shared across the table alongside a bottle from the cellar. Wine is a genuine focus here, with a list running to around 400 bottles overseen by a dedicated head sommelier, spanning well-known regions as well as more approachable, lesser-known labels. A separate bar area near the entrance offers a more casual option for guests after a cocktail and a snack rather than a full sit-down meal, including share plates like a fried choux pastry doughnut served with caviar. Lucia operates for lunch, dinner and later into the evening on weeknights and weekends, plus a shorter Sunday session, making it a flexible option for both quick catch-ups and longer celebratory meals. Its location within a commercial building also makes it a popular choice for business lunches and after-work drinks among the surrounding office workforce.
