Brewmanity began life in 2015 as a one-off charity beer brewed by former Melbourne Football Club captain David Neitz, teammate Paul Hopgood and former Carlton & United Breweries marketing manager Jamie Fox, created to support their old coach Neale Daniher in his fight against motor neurone disease. What started as a single beer has grown into a full brewery, with the South Melbourne venue opening its doors in March 2024 as Melbourne's first rooftop brewery bar. Set across three levels in a converted glass factory on Tope Street, Brewmanity pairs an industrial ground-floor Beer Hall, where the stainless steel fermenters sit in full view, with upstairs bars including the Next Level terrace and additional rooftop space. Head brewer Tim Miller, who has worked at breweries including Little Creatures and 3 Ravens, produces the venue's house beers on site, ranging from core styles to seasonal and limited releases, served across dozens of taps. Beyond beer, the drinks list covers wine, spirits and cocktails, while the food menu leans toward pub classics and shared plates, including South Melbourne dim sims and vegan options. The venue runs weekly trivia nights and happy hour specials, and its function spaces host everything from casual get-togethers to larger private events. True to its roots, every beer sold continues to contribute to Fight MND, which Brewmanity has helped raise close to a million dollars for.
